Dear members of the Florida Panthers Alumni Association,
Our family would like to thank you for all of your efforts in making our son Michael Chapdelaine's week at goalie camp a memorable one. Michael is still talking about camp and he is more focused on playing hockey than ever before! He would really like us to move near an ice rink!
Michael started school on Monday and yesterday one of our local papers ran another article about him attending camp. One of his teachers saw the article and announced that there was a celebrity in the classroom. Knowing Michael, I am sure he was a little embarrassed but at the same time felt good about being recognized for something he took part in. Michael told us the kids were asking him about goalie camp and they want to see photos. This is great! He really needs the positive reinforcement from his peers.
Attending goalie camp was truly a life changing experience for Michael. He left camp knowing he was special and important even to those who don't know him. We have seen Michael's self esteem soar since last month! The Florida Panthers Alumni Association is responsible for this and we will never be able to thank you enough.
We would also like to thank Bryan Girsch and Jennifer Simmons for all of their hard work and making sure Michael had everything he needed to attend goalie camp. Both Bryan and Jennifer went above and beyond their call of duty! They are both a great asset to your organization!
Goalie camp could not have been any more organized or professional! This was a five-star camp! Every coach was enthusiastic, empowering, fun and organized. As the spectator "mom", I couldn't tell who was having more fun, the kids or the coaches! Michael hopes to attend camp again next year; he is already saving his money. He's sure his gear will still fit him (thanks to Jennifer).
We also want to thank you for making hotel arrangements for us. This was beyond our expectations and we are very appreciative for your generosity.
Again, thank you for the wonderful opportunity you provided to our son and to our family.
Chirstine and Gregory Chapdelaine
