SUNRISE – FOX Sports Florida and the NHL Florida Panthers announced the team’s 72-game regional telecast schedule for the 2010-2011 regular season. As the exclusive regional television home of the Florida Panthers, FOX Sports Florida will air 38 home and 34 away match-ups throughout South Florida, with all 72 games airing in HD. Ratings on HD games were on average 30-percent higher than non-HD games during the 2009-10 Panthers season on FOX Sports Florida.
“We have worked diligently with FOX Sports Florida and have put together a television schedule that Panthers fans should really enjoy,” said Panthers VP of Broadcasting Randy Moller. “Furthermore, for the first time in our team’s history all 72-games are scheduled in HD, providing our fans at home with the ultimate Panthers hockey viewing experience.”
Regular season coverage on FOX Sports Florida begins on Sunday, Oct. 10 when Florida travels to Edmonton to take on the Oilers at 8 p.m. (ET), followed by games in Vancouver (Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. (ET)) and in Calgary (Oct. 14 at 9:30 p.m. (ET)). FOX Sports Florida will air Florida’s first home match-up of the of the season when their intrastate rivals the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the BankAtlantic Center on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. (ET). Fans tuning into FOX Sports Florida will also have the opportunity to watch the Cats when the take on the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks Mar. 8 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) and Mar. 23 at 8:30 p.m. (ET). Other televised must-see games include a Thanksgiving Eve contest with the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m (ET)., the day after Thanksgiving against the New York Rangers at 7:30 p.m., a New Year’s Eve match-up with the Montreal Canadiens at 5 p.m. (ET) and the Detroit Red Wings on Friday, Mar. 18 at 7:30p.m. (ET).
Calling the action for Florida Panther hockey will be Steve “Goldie” Goldstein (play-by-play) with color commentary from former Panther Bill Lindsay (analyst).
Craig Minervini returns as host of PANTHERS LIVE, FOX Sports Florida’s popular pre and expanded postgame show, featuring live interviews and commentary from inside the Panthers locker room. Minervini also serves as rinkside reporter and host of the FLORIDA PANTHERS PRESEASON SPECIAL which premieres on FOX Sports Florida on October 2, at noon.
Frank Forte serves as feature rinkside reporter and will host the popular INSIDE THE PANTHERS series and Allison Williams returns for her third season to provide additional reports during intermission and post-game interviews for all home games. The first episode of INSIDE THE PANTHERS this season will focus on rookie camp and premieres October 16, at 10 p.m. (ET).

All FOX Sports Florida games are slated to be produced and distributed in HD and will be available to HD customers of participating cable and satellite systems on a separate FOX Sports Florida HD channel.
FOX Sports Florida works closely with the Panthers and the NHL on ways to enhance the game telecasts with non-conventional elements such as microphones on players and coaches and additional camera angles and those efforts will continue this season.
