Fox Sports Florida And The Florida Panthers Unveil 73-Game Telecast Schedule

SUNRISE – FOX Sports Florida and the NHL Florida Panthers have announced the team’s 73-game regional telecast schedule for the 2011-2012 season. As the exclusive regional television home of the Florida Panthers, all of FOX Sports Florida’s telecasts will air throughout South Florida in HD.

“We have worked diligently with FOX Sports Florida and put together a broadcast schedule that Panthers fans will enjoy,” said Florida Panthers President/Chief Operating Officer Michael Yormark. “With 73 games aired on FOX Sports Florida, along with our coverage on VERSUS and CENTER ICE, our fans will have plenty of opportunities to follow Panthers hockey throughout the 2011-12 season.”
With a revamped roster and new head coach Kevin Dineen, the Florida Panthers embark on a promising new era, and FOX Sports Florida will air the season’s most exciting games. The network kicks off its coverage with the Panthers’ season opener, an Oct. 8 matchup vs. the New York Islanders at 8:00 p.m. (ET). FOX Sports Florida will then welcome the Panthers to their home ice vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The network will air four additional contests between the Panthers and their intrastate division rivals. The two teams will meet on Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m. (ET), on Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. (ET), on Nov. 26 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) and on Feb. 4 at 7:00 p.m. (ET)
FOX Sports Florida will also televise all four games vs. the defending Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins. The two teams will meet in Boston on Dec. 8 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), and on Dec. 23 at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers will then host two contests at the BankAtlantic Center – on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
In addition, FOX Sports Florida will bring fans every contest against Alex Ovechkin and the division rival Washington Capitals. The teams meet on Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. (ET), Feb. 1 at 8:00 p.m. (ET), Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) and April 5 at 7:00 p.m. (ET). FOX Sports Florida will also televise the only regular season game against the Western Conference Champion Vancouver Canucks on Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Florida’s contest at Pittsburgh on Oct. 11 will be aired nationally on VERSUS, while two other games (Dec. 31 vs. Montreal & Jan. 21 @ Winnipeg) will be aired as part of Hockey Night in Canada’s programming on CBC.
FOX Sports Florida and the Florida Panthers return a host of on-air talent for the 2011-2012 season, and the network will continue to work closely with the Panthers and the NHL to enhance the fan experience.  Play-by-play announcer Steve “Goldie” Goldstein and analyst and 14-year NHL veteran Bill Lindsay will share their veteran knowledge and commentaries on all of FOX Sports Florida’s telecasts.
PANTHERS LIVE also returns for the 2011-2012 season, with pregame shows scheduled for all home games and postgame coverage of every televised game. Hosted by Allison Williams, PANTHERS LIVE will feature exclusive access to South Florida’s hometown NHL team, including live interviews and analysis from inside the Panthers’ locker room. In addition, Craig Minervini and Frank Forte will contribute their analysis throughout the season.
As always, FOX Sports Florida will continue to bring viewers closer to the game with the FLORIDA PANTHERS PRESEASON SPECIAL, which premieres on Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. , and seven all-new episodes of INSIDE THE PANTHERS. The popular series allows fans to enjoy behind-the-scenes coverage of different aspects of the Panthers’ organization.
In addition, the network’s website,, will engage fans throughout the 2011-2012 season with exclusive videos, expert analysis, pre and postgame coverage and photo galleries. Fans will also be able to interact on the network’s Facebook page, Sun Sports / FOX Sports Florida, and Twitter platform, SunSportsFOXFL. All FOX Sports Florida games are slated to be produced and distributed in HD and will be available to HD customers of participating cable and satellite systems on a separate FOX Sports Florida HD channel.
