SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers Foundation today announced that the Second Annual Face-Off Luncheon presented by AvMed Health Plans is officially sold out. Over 400 guests will attend the event, to be held on Tuesday, October 7 at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton from 12 pm – 1:30 pm. The Face-Off Luncheon is additionally sponsored by Mayors, Morgan Stanley, the Boca Raton Florist, Print Basics, Steven Gelbard, M.D., P.A., Fidelity Investments, Balfour Beatty Construction, Daniel Man, M.D. and Sentinel Investments.

The Luncheon will feature speeches from General Manager Jacques Martin and Head Coach Peter DeBoer outlining the upcoming season and their expectations for the 2008-09 Florida Panthers. Fans will enjoy a gourmet meal as a Panthers player or coach will join each table for lunch.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has been named as a preferred beneficiary of the Florida Panthers Foundation. The hospital will receive $500 from the Foundation for every Panthers goal scored at the BankAtlantic Center during the 2007-08 season.
Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated funds to the following organizations: The Andy Roddick Foundation, the Transplant Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Goldie’s Gang, Deliver the Dream and the Jewish National Fund.
Additionally, the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, Homestead Air Reserve, Soref JCC, Kids in Distress, American Jewish Community, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Rock and Wrap It Up!.
