SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that they will host the team’s 2014 draft party at Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill – Plantation (1280 South Pine Island Rd.) on Friday, June 27, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Florida owns the first overall pick in this year’s draft, as well as the 32nd overall selection (second round), along with fourth, fifth and seventh round selections.
The draft party will be highlighted by guest appearances by Panthers alumni, including Panthers television analyst Bill Lindsay. 560 WQAM will also broadcast live from the draft party, with Panthers radio broadcaster Randy Moller providing live reports from the draft floor in Philadelphia.
New for this year, fans will have the opportunity to purchase game-used Panthers equipment with a portion of the proceeds going to the Florida Panthers Foundation. Stanley C. Panther, Panther Patrol members and the Fox Sports Florida girls will be on hand to meet with fans. All fans will also have the opportunity to play interactive games and receive free prizes and giveaways. Other draft party activities for children include the Panthers bounce house, face painting and balloon artists.
Fans will also have the opportunity to win a VIP experience (must be at least 21 years old to enter) that will include the chance to speak with Moller live on-air during the draft coverage on WQAM, a reserved table at the draft party including all-you-can-eat and a $50 credit for drinks for two, as well as a prize pack from Fox Sports Florida. This VIP prizewinner will also win two tickets for the 2015 NHL Draft to be held at BB&T Center, home of the Florida Panthers. The draft party will also be the kickoff of the 2014-2015 season marketing campaign entitled “One Under the Sun.” The Florida Panthers proudly recognizes its role as South Florida’s hockey team built on the concept of one team, one community and one objective. The 2014 NHL Draft will take place at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Round one of the NHL Draft will be broadcast live on NBC Sports beginning at 7 p.m. on June 27. Rounds two-seven will take place on June 28.
