Sunrise, FL- The Florida Panthers announced today that #PanthersPalooza 2017 will be held at the BB&T Center prior to the Panthers-Blue Jackets game on Saturday, January 14.
A social media meet-up designed to connect Florida Panthers fans active in the digital space in person, the #PanthersPalooza package will consist of dinner with Panthers co-owner and Alternate Governor Doug Cifu, a souvenir t-shirt, an interactive town hall-style conversation featuring Cifu, Panthers president and CEO Matthew Caldwell, former NHL players Billy Lindsay, Denis Potvin and Randy Moller and broadcasters Steve Goldstein and Doug Plagens.
Additionally, #PanthersPalooza 2017 will include a 'draw your own snapchat filter competition.' The winning design will be purchased by the club and made available for public use at an upcoming home game.
"We started #PanthersPalooza as a way for fans of the Cats who are active in social media to meet in person other fans they only had met on Twitter or Facebook," said Cifu. "As an active social media user myself, it was a great opportunity for me to put faces with twitter names and to get great feedback on the fan experience. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and reconnecting with our great loyal fanbase."
#PanthersPalooza 2017 event will host some of the Florida Panthers' biggest digital influencers with the intention of creating buzz around the arena with the specific hashtag #PanthersPalooza.
For every #PanthersPalooza hashtag on Twitter and Instagram used during the game on January 14, the Florida Panthers Alumni Association will donate $.25 to benefit Youth Hockey Initiatives. The Florida Panthers will also randomly award prizes to fans who use the hashtag during the game. The event will take place at the Chairman's Club.
