by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

SUNRISE, Fla. –
Florida Panthers General Manager Tom Rowe announced today that the Panthers have signed defenseman Ian McCoshen to a three-year, entry-level contract.

“Ian is a big, physical defenseman who plays a solid two-way game.” said Rowe. “After an impressive college career at Boston College we are excited for him to further his development as an important part of our team’s future on the blueline.”

The 20-year old McCoshen recorded 21 points (6-15-21) in 40 games this season for Boston College. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Faribault, Minn., spent three seasons with the Eagles (2013-16) recording 50 points (17-33-50) in 110 games. McCoshen served as an alternate captain during his junior season.

McCoshen was originally selected by the Panthers in the second round (31st overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
