Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms with D Dylan Olsen
on a two-year contract as well as F Garrett Wilson and C Ryan Martindale on one-year, two-way contracts.
Olsen, 23, appeared in 44 games for Florida during the 2013-2014 season registering 12 points (3-9-12), including a career best five-game point scoring streak (Dec. 5-13). The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman scored his first National Hockey League goal and recorded his first multi-point game (1-1-2) on Dec. 5 against Winnipeg.
During his career in the National Hockey League, Olsen has appeared in 72 games with Chicago (2011-2012) and Florida (2013-current) scoring three goals with 10 assists. Olsen was acquired by the Panthers from the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 14. The Calgary, Alberta native was drafted by Chicago in the first round (28th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Wilson, 23, made his NHL debut with Florida on Mar. 18 in San Jose and played in three games with the Panthers during the 2013-2014 campaign. He also appeared in 71 games for San Antonio (American Hockey League) recording 30 points (14-16-30) and 58 penalty minutes.
The Barrie, Ontario native was drafted by Florida in the fourth round (107th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Martindale, 22, played in 37 games with the San Antonio Rampage last season recording five goals and nine assists (5-9-14) after being acquired
in January from Edmonton.
