Florida Panthers Relieve Peter DeBoer of Head Coaching Duties

SUNRISE, Fla. ­ Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that Head Coach Peter DeBoer has been relieved of his coaching duties effective immediately.

"These decisions are always tough to make, but we felt strongly that it was the right time to make a change," said Tallon. "We need to go in a new direction with a fresh approach and philosophy as it relates to our head coaching position. The entire Panthers organization would like to thank Peter for his hard work and service to this franchise and wish him all the best in the future."
The Florida Panthers will have no further comment today. Tallon will be available to the media at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 11 at the Iceplex in Coral Springs.
