SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled G Jacob Markstrom from San Antonio (AHL).
Markstrom, 23, has played in 42 career National Hockey League games, all with Florida, going 11-24-5 with a 3.16 GAA. He has appeared in 11 games with Florida this season, posting a 1-5-3 mark. In his last game with Florida on Nov. 5, Markstrom made 23 saves in in 4-3 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
The Gavle, Sweden, was loaned to San Antonio on Nov. 10 and has played in 10 games with the Rampage, going 4-5-1. Markstrom currently ranks 11th in the American Hockey League in save percentage (.924) and 19th in the league in goals-against average (2.46).
Markstrom was drafted by Florida in the second round (31st overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
