Florida Panthers Reassign RW Anthony Stewart

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin announced that RW Anthony Stewart has been reassigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Stewart, 22, has played in five games with the Panthers this season, registering no points while averaging 6:21 of ice time. He has also appeared in five games with Rochester this year scoring three goals with one assist and four PIM.

Martin on Stewart being sent down:
"He’s not getting a lot of ice time. I think that hampers his development and we felt he would benefit from going down and playing."

Stewart was originally drafted by the Panthers with their second choice (25th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
