SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today that the Florida Panthers Foundation has launched the 2019-20 season application for the Florida Panthers Foundation Community Champions Grant Program presented by Moss & Associates, LLC and Moss Foundation. Local 501(c)(3) organizations are encouraged to apply by July 15. All organizations who are interested in applying must be a 501(c)(3) organization or government agency serving in the South Florida area.
The Florida Panthers Foundation Community Champions Grant Program allows charitable organizations throughout the South Florida region to request financial support for programs and initiatives that are benefiting the community and support the four pillars of the Florida Panthers Foundation. The four pillars include children's health and education, veteran's issues, youth hockey and raising awareness for the endangered Florida panther. Throughout the season at each home Panthers game, the Foundation recognizes and awards one grant for up to $25,000 to a local organization.
During the first three years of the program, the Florida Panthers Foundation has awarded $3 million to local organizations. Launched under the leadership of Vincent J. Viola and Douglas Cifu in 2016, the program has committed $5 million over five years to the South Florida community.
