SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today that the Florida Panthers Foundation raised over $150,000 during its second annual Cats & Cocktails event.

Florida Panthers corporate partners and supporters were able to interact with Panthers players, coaches and personalities at Louie Bossi's Ristorante in Fort Lauderdale. The evening featured dinner, entertainment along with a live and silent auction. Among the featured auction items were going to a Miami Heat game with Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau, a Stogies and Spaghetti dinner at Perricone's Marketplace & Café with a trip to Prime Cigar with Jason Demers and Alex Petrovic, an original team-signed painting of the Panthers locker stall by Joseph Gormley and becoming a Panther Pro for a day for one lucky kid.

Panthers Defenseman Aaron Ekblad had a surprise live auction item: a team signed Panthers Jose Fernandez jersey that was warm-up worn by Aaron Ekblad on Oct. 13, 2016 in honor of Jose. The money raised for the Fernandez jersey was given to the JDF16 Foundation.

"We are thrilled we were able to have the second annual Cats & Cocktails event and extremely pleased with the money we raised for the foundation," Executive Director of the Florida Panthers Foundation Lauren Simone said. "We doubled profits in the live auction from last year and hope to grow this event every year to raise money for the South Florida community."

The Florida Panthers Foundation focuses on supporting youth hockey in South Florida, children's health and education, military veterans as well as the Florida Panther endangered species.
