Foundation Introduces New Fundraising Initiatives
SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers Foundation had an incredibly successful month of April in which it introduced a number of new fundraising initiatives including the highly successful Lucky Ducky event, which coincided with the first Cats Cookout of the summer on April 26.
The Lucky Ducky event raised over $1,200 for local children’s charities in South Florida. Fans had the opportunity to purchase a duck for the chance to win autographed Florida Panthers merchandise or tickets to upcoming shows at the BankAtlantic Center.
“I am very encouraged by the success of our Lucky Ducky event, as it proves that our fans are responding to our innovative fundraising ideas,” said Foundation Executive Director Alaina Miller. “We will continue to work on coming up with new, exciting ideas to raise more money for the children of South Florida. I would like to thank our fans for their generous support, as they continue to prove that Florida Panthers fans are some of the most generous fans in the NHL.
The Foundation will introduce its Panther Pail fundraising event at the next Cats Cookout on Tuesday May 15 at the BankAtlantic Center. During this event, fans will have the opportunity to throw a beach ball into pails of various sizes for a chance to win various prizes, including autographed Panthers merchandise.
The Florida Panthers Foundation supported various charities in April by sponsoring the following events and making donations to the following organizations: • The Work – Life Balance Institute for Women • American Heart Association • Boys and Girls Clubs of Boca Raton • The Transplant Foundation
Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, Homestead Air Reserve, Soref JCC, Boys & Girls Club, Miami Disadvantaged Youth, Dept. of Naval Science, American Jewish Community, City of Plantation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, H.O.P.E., Camelot Community Center, Stellar Kids, the Andy Roddick Foundation and Rock and Wrap It Up!.
