SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers Foundation today announced plans for the Second Annual Face-Off Luncheon, presented by AvMed Health Plans, which will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at the Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.

The Luncheon will feature speeches from General Manager Jacques Martin and Head Coach Peter DeBoer outlining the upcoming season and their expectations for the 2008-09 Florida Panthers. Fans will enjoy a gourmet meal as a Panthers player or coach will join each table for lunch. More than 450 guests attended last year’s sold out event and the Foundation expects the event to sell out for the second consecutive year.
Individual tickets are $100 and will include a voucher for four Club level tickets to a Florida Panthers home game in October during the 2008-09 season, excluding Opening Night. Tables of 10 will also be available for purchase for $900 and each guest will also receive a voucher for four Club level tickets to a Florida Panthers home game in October during the 2008-09 season, excluding Opening Night.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has been named as a preferred beneficiary of the Florida Panthers Foundation. The hospital will receive $500 from the Foundation for every Panthers goal scored at the BankAtlantic Center during the 2008-09 season.
Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated funds to the following organizations: The Andy Roddick Foundation, the Transplant Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Goldie’s Gang, Deliver the Dream and the Jewish National Fund.
Additionally, the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, Homestead Air Reserve, Soref JCC, Kids in Distress, American Jewish Community, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Rock and Wrap It Up!.
