Florida Panthers Foundation Announces Alaina Miller As Executive Director

Foundation continues to support the South Florida community in January

SUNRISE, FL – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Alaina Miller has been named the Executive Director for the Florida Panthers Foundation. In her new position, Miller will be responsible for overseeing all of the Foundation's fundraising activities and strategic partnerships and will be responsible for helping the Florida Panthers give back to the South Florida community.

Miller will be working in conjunction with Director of Community Development Jean Marshall to assure that the Panthers Foundation exceeds all of its aggressive goals and objectives.

Miller graduated from Michigan State University and began her career with the Detroit Red Wings and moved on to the NCAA's Central Collegiate Hockey Association before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2001. During her time with the Lightning, Miller served in the marketing partnerships department, ultimately serving as the senior director of marketing partnerships.

"It is an honor to have Alaina as a part of the Florida Panthers Foundation," said SSE Sr. VP Chad Johnson. "Her extensive experience will prove to be an invaluable asset to the Foundation as we continue our aggressive fundraising goals in an effort to make a substantial impact on the South Florida community."

Additionally in the month of January the Florida Panthers Foundation worked on initiatives including:

Continuing the popular 50/50 Chance Drawing. Before home games, fans have the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket and the lucky winner will walk away with half of the total proceeds from that night.

The Florida Panthers Foundation continues to work with such players as Olli Jokinen, Todd Bertuzzi, Mike Van Ryn, Chris Gratton and Ed Belfour in implementing their various charity programs.

The Florida Panthers Foundation supported various charities in January by sponsoring the following events:

- The Exceptional Women & Men of 2006 Awards

- MS Gala Luncheon and Fashion Show

- Boys & Clubs of Broward County 40th Annual Dinner Auction

The Florida Panthers Foundation continues to work on plans for its second annual Florida Panthers Ice & Dice Casino Night presented by Publix Super Markets. With Florida Panthers players working as dealers, the Foundation anticipates a large crowd for an over the top Las Vegas-style, five-star evening which fans can't afford to miss. Guests will also be able to take part in on-ice activities, games and contests. The entire Panthers family – including players and their wives or girlfriends – will make the BankAtlantic Center a full house on Feb. 15. Lucky guests will enjoy gourmet delicacies and a silent auction featuring: Panthers and NHL memorabilia, concert tickets, golf packages, cruises, and exquisite jewelry.
