Stick 2 Fitness At Parkland YMCA
SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers and Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Stanley C. Panther and various Panthers personalities will bring their exercise and healthy eating show called Stick 2 Fitness presented by Tenet Healthcare and South Florida Sinus & Allergy Center to many schools, camps, and community centers around South Florida.
Stick 2 Fitness is a program that educates children on fun ways to exercise and eat healthy. Children have the opportunity to interact with Stanley C. Panther and try out 5 unique exercises as well learning about the USDA Food Pyramid. The program consists of a 30 minute interactive assembly that outlines the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle through frequent exercise and smart eating habits. Following the assembly, students break out into exercise sessions based on what was learned during the show.
Stick 2 Fitness has already performed at Deerfield Beach Elementary and the Parkland YMCA this month. For the remainder of June, Stick 2 Fitness will be performing at Attucks Middle School, Camp Nova at the University School, Orange Park Community Center, Davie PAL, Quest Center, and Junior Achievement.
Later this month SSE full-time staffers will be volunteering with the Cooperative Feeding Program and with Broward Housing Solution. Stanley C. Panther will also be spending some time with the South Florida Muscular Dystrophy Association to play games and interact with the children.
These initiatives are all part of SSE’s commitment to give back to the community as outlined in the Contract With The Community.
