SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers Alumni Association hosted its fifth “Try Hockey” clinic on Saturday, Mar. 8 at the Glacier Ice and Snow Arena in Pompano Beach. The event saw a combined 45 youth and adult participants.
The Try Hockey For Free clinics have been hosted at five South Florida arenas that are members of the Florida Panthers’ Rink Coalition. The four other arenas to host the clinics were the Panthers IceDen (Nov. 24), Kendall Ice Arena (Dec. 21), Palm Beach Skate Zone (Jan. 12), and Palm Beach Ice Works (Feb. 8). Overall, more than 200 youth and adult participants took part in the free clinics.
“Continuing to spread a passion for the game of hockey throughout South Florida is a top priority for our Alumni Association,” said Panthers Vice President of Broadcasting and Alumni, Randy Moller. “Our clinics have given people of all ages the chance to try hockey for the first time and to continue to build what we hope will be lifelong attachments to the sport.”
Panthers Alumni members Bill Lindsay, Chris Wells, John Jakopin and Serge Payer instructed the participants at Saturday’s clinic along with local coach Bob Goldstein and former NHL players Ray Staszak and John Blum.
