SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with F Brad Boyes.
“We are pleased to have Brad back for the next two seasons,” said Tallon. “He has played an important role in our club’s offense this year, leading our team in goals, while also performing well in shootouts. We look forward to his continued contributions to our organization.”
Boyes, 31, leads the Panthers with 17 goals and ranks tied for second on the club with 28 points (17-11-28). For his career in the National Hockey League, he has played in 665 National Hockey League games for St. Louis (2006-2011), Buffalo (2011-2012), New York Islanders (2012-2013) and Florida (2013-2014) registering 435 points (185-250-435). Boyes has recorded at least 40 points five times throughout his 10-year NHL playing career and at least 25 goals on three different occasions.
The Mississauga, Ontario native played his junior career with the Erie Otters (OHL). He earned the Red Tilson Trophy (most outstanding player in OHL) in 2001 and 2002.
Boyes was drafted by Toronto in the first round (24th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
