Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms with Panthers prospect D Josh Brown on an entry-level contract.
“We are pleased to have agreed to an entry-level contract with Josh,” said Tallon. “Josh has helped lead the Oshawa Generals to four consecutive postseason appearances, while serving as Oshawa’s captain for the past two seasons.”
Brown, 21 has played 230 regular season games (2011-2015) for the Oshawa Generals (OHL), recording 53 points (6-47—53) and 303 penalty minutes with a +64 rating.
This season, Brown reached career-highs in goals (4), assists (17), points (21), penalty minutes (92) and plus-minus (+49).
Brown and the Generals begin the second round of the 2014-15 Ontario Hockey League playoffs on Friday, April 10, against the Niagara Ice Dogs.
The London, Ontario, native was selected by Florida in the sixth round (152nd overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
