Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club agreed to terms on an entry level contract with F Chase Balisy.
Balisy, 23, played in 73 games with the St. John’s IceCaps in the American Hockey League this season, scoring a team-high 21 goals, while finishing second on the club with 44 points (21-23—44).
Prior to turning professional, he played four years of college hockey at Western Michigan University, appearing in 161 games, registering 129 points (49-80—129) and 73 PIM. The Rancho Santa Margarita, California, native captained the Western Michigan University squad in 2013-14.
Balisy was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round (170th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft.
