SUNRISE, Fla – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired F Reilly Smith and the contract of F Marc Savard from the Boston Bruins in exchange for F Jimmy Hayes.

Smith, 24, has appeared in 203 National Hockey League games for the Boston Bruins (2013-15) and Dallas Stars (2011-13), recording 100 points (36-64—100). In 12 postseason contests, Smith has recorded four goals and one assist. During the 2014-15 season, the 6-foot, 185-pound winger recorded 40 points (13-27—40) in 81 games.
The Toronto, ON, native has played in 45 AHL games, all with the Texas Stars (2012-13), recording 35 points (14-21—35). Before his professional career, Smith played three seasons with the University of Miami-Ohio, recording 122 points (66-56—122) in 121 games.
Smith was selected by Dallas in the third round (69th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
