Florida Panthers prospect F Lawson Crouse will throw out the ceremonial opening pitch at Marlins Park before the Miami Marlins’ game against the San Francisco Giants on July 1 at 7:10 p.m.
Crouse, 18, was selected by the Panthers in the first round (11th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft at BB&T Center in Sunrise on June 26. Crouse recorded a team-high 29 goals and 51 points for the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during the 2014-15 season.
“I want to thank the Marlins for allowing me to throw the first pitch at Wednesday’s game,” said Crouse. “I’m looking forward to a great night with my teammates and the chance to cheer on another South Florida sports team.”
Crouse will be joined in attendance by 25 Panthers’ prospects for the Marlins’ match-up. The club’s prospects are currently in South Florida to participate in the club’s annual Development Camp at Florida Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs.
