SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panther prospects C Jonathan Huberdeau (Saint John-QMJHL), D Jonathan Racine (Moncton-QMJHL), LW Francis Beauvillier (Rimouski-QMJHL), C Steven Hodges (Victoria-WHL) and LW Yaroslav Kosov (Magnitogorsk-KHL) were all selected to play in this year’s hockey Super Series. The Super Series features teams of CHL All-Stars competing against Team Russia in preparation for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship.
Huberdeau, the Panthers first choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, leads his junior club with 23 points (11-12-23) in 18 games played.
Racine, the Panthers third round choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, ranks tied for first on his junior club for points by a defenseman with nine (3-6-9).
Beauvillier, Florida’s sixth round choice in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, has recorded 11 points (7-4-11) in 19 games.
Hodges, Florida’s third round choice in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, has three goals and five assists in nine games played.
Kosov, who will play for team Russia, has recorded three points (2-1-3) in 21 games played for Magnitogorsk (KHL). He was originally drafted by Florida with their fifth choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The 2012 Super Series will take place November 5 – 15 and marks the tenth straight year that teams of CHL All-Stars have competed against Team Russia in preparation for the World Junior Hockey Championship
