SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers (@FlaPanthers) Alumni Association hosted their first “Try Hockey” Clinic at the Saveology.com Iceplex (@Saveology_Plex) in Coral Springs on Sunday, Nov. 24. The event saw a combined 60 youth and adult participants in its first sessions.
Running the clinic were Panthers alumni Bill Lindsay, Bryan McCabe, Pete Worrell, Ray Sheppard and Marco Sturm along with youth hockey coaches Jim Haverstrom, Ryan Johnston, PJ Nicsevic, Paul Tilley, George Nuccio, Bob Goldstein, as well as Ashley Bevan and Rich Hansen from USA Hockey.
“We are extremely excited that the first Panthers Alumni Try Hockey clinic was a hit,” said Panthers VP of Broadcasting & Alumni Randy Moller. “The clinics at our Panthers Rink Coalition partners are helping to grow the game of hockey in South Florida, and we can’t wait for more hockey fans to come out to the other availabilities this season.”
Hosted at the Panthers Rink Coalition arenas, the next Try Hockey Clinic, intended for first time hockey participants, will be held at the Kendall Ice Arena on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2:30 p.m. (kids and adults in one session). Other Try Hockey Clinic dates are scheduled for Jan. 12 at Palm Beach Skate Zone, with sessions at 10:00 a.m. for kids and 11:00 a.m, for adults, Feb. 8 at Palm Beach Ice Works at 4:45 p.m. for kids and 5:45 p.m. for adults, and finally March 8 at the Glacier Ice and Snow Arena at 5:20 p.m. for kids and 6:30 p.m. for adults.
