First Cats Cookout of the Summer Set for This Evening

The Florida Panthers announced today that Panthers captain Olli Jokinen and former Panther Joe Nieuwendyk will greet fans at the first ‘Cats Cookout’ of the summer. The cookout will be held this evening, located on the BankAtlantic Center’s South Carls Patio at 6 p.m. Prior to the cookout, Cats Captain Olli Jokinen and Pillar Partner Luggage Express will take part in a special check presentation where they will combine to donate $42,000 to various children’s charities as part of a charitable match program.

The festivities will include free food and drinks and live music on the Carl’s Patio. On this night only, fans will be able to purchase Panthers NHL equipment. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to meet the Florida Panthers sales team and select seats for the upcoming season. Stanley C. Panther and the Florida Panthers Ice Dancers by Sziro Jewelry will also be in attendance.

The Florida Panthers Foundation also announced that its first “Lucky Ducky” fundraiser will be held during the Cats Cookout . All proceeds will go toward the Florida Panthers Foundation.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase one duck for $5 or five ducks for $20. Every fan that purchases a duck will receive a nominal prize, while select “Lucky Ducks” will yield autographed memorabilia, concert tickets or Florida Panthers tickets for the 2007-2008 season. The ducks can be purchased outside of Section 105.
