East Lake High School Defends Title in SAHOF State Finals

The Florida Panthers would like to congratulate defending champions East Lake High School for their 3-1 victory over North Broward Prep High school in the SAHOF State Finals hosted at the BankAtlantic Center, home of the Florida Panthers, last Sunday, March 25.

“Fans were able to see the top high school ice hockey teams in Florida compete in three closely contested exciting games - in the most exciting forum in professional sports, the BankAtlantic Center,” said FSHL President Peter Pearlman. “It’s just thrilling for these high school student athletes, their parents, friends, and our FSHL fans.”

The two semifinal games were also held at the BankAtlantic Center on Sunday, prior to the final game at 3p.m. North Broward Prep defeated Cypress Bay High School in a 5-3 victory whereas East Lake High School Defeated Stoneman-Douglas High School in a 5-3 victory as well.

“The FSHL has always been grateful to the Florida Panthers for their continued support, and for going the extra yard for high school ice hockey,” Pearlman added.

The BankAtlanic Center also provides FSHL with a first class venue for team competition. This season, the FSHL has played over 12 complimentary scheduled games at the BankAtlantic Center.

“The Florida Panthers are happy to have been a part of the success of FSHL again this year,” said President of Alumni Association Randy Moller. “Our participation with FSHL will enable the Panthers Alumni Association and Florida Panthers to stay involved in the community which is something we love to do.”
