DAL : 4 FLA: 3 (SO) Quick Hits

Panthers prospects, F Rocco Grimaldi (2011 2/33) and F Jayce Hawryluk (2014 2/32) both made their NHL preseason debut tonight.

G Dan Ellis got the start for the Cats turning aside nine of 11 shots in the first and second periods.

D Shane O’Brien opened the scoring for the Cats in the second period, with his first of the preseason. O’Brien, 31 is on a PTO with Florida.

F Scottie Upshall and F Jonathan Huberdeau each earned their first point of the preseason with an assist, setting up the first Panthers goal by O’Brien.

Panther F Dave Bolland, scored his first goal of the preseason on the power play to tie the game in the second period with an assists from D Dmitry Kulikov and D Colby Robak. Kulikov led the Panthers in TOI, skating 24:56.

F Brandon Pirri gave the Panthers their third unanswered goal after breaking the 2-2 tie after a faceoff win from C Vincent Trocheck to give the Panthers the lead.

G Michael Houser started the third period for the Cats and finished the game in OT and the shootout, stopping 19 of 20 shots. Houser stopped Dallas Stars snipers C Tyler Seguin and F Jamie Benn in the shootout, before F Ales Hemsky snuck a backhand past him to win the game for Dallas.
