"Countdown To Opening Night" Driven by Hyundai To Begin On Sept. 10

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers today unveiled the team’s plan for their multi-faceted promotional and marketing initiative Countdown to Opening Night driven by Hyundai.


The Countdown to Opening Night consists of a variety of community, promotional, radio and television appearances that will commence on Sept. 10 and continue for 31 days leading up to the club’s home opener on Oct. 11 against Atlanta at 7 p.m. Florida Panthers players, coaches, front office executives and broadcasters all will take part in this initiative, as the Panthers prepare their fans for the start of the 2008-09 hockey season.

“This is an unprecedented undertaking for our organization, as we will have exposure in the South Florida community for 31 consecutive days leading up to Panthers opening night at the BankAtlantic Center,” said Florida Panthers President/COO Michael Yormark. “We have put together a tremendous schedule of appearances and events that will impact all our fans throughout the South Florida community. The Countdown to Opening Night gives our fans a chance to share in all the excitement surrounding the return of Panthers hockey.”

The Countdown to Opening Night will be highlighted by four exclusive invitation-only season seat owner parties that will take place at Mayors, North America’s leading luxury brand and manufacturer of fine jewelry. At these parties, which will take place at select Mayors South Florida retail locations, fans will have the chance to meet Panthers players, as well as have the opportunity to enter to win a Mayors and Panthers prize package worth more than $2,000.

Other Countdown to Opening Night Events include, Nathan Horton throwing out the first pitch at the Marlins game on Sept. 13, a Cats Cookout at incredibleICE on Sept. 20 to kickoff training camp and numerous other soon to be announced promotional events. Panthers players, team executives and broadcasters will also be on hand making community appearances at several of the team’s marketing partners that include: Publix, BankAtlantic, Cold Stone Creamery, Chili’s, MetroPCS and Dillard’s.
