SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers opened up their ‘Countdown to Opening Night Driven by Hyundai’ program with six events in four days including one of the newest Panthers D Keith Ballard throwing out the first pitch at the Marlins-Nationals game Saturday evening at Dolphin Stadium.
On Tuesday, RW David Booth greeted hundreds of fans at the Mayors Jewelers in Weston. Booth then crossed the street to Coldstone Creamery where he met up with D Noah Welch and continued to sign autographs and meet with fans that were lined up out the door.
On Monday the Panthers hosted a duel event at the BankAtlantic Center as over 300 fans attended a Cats Cookout in the Patron Lounge while Panthers suite owners had a food tasting event in the Chairman’s Club across the hall. Three of the newest Panthers C Cory Stillman, D Bryan McCabe and Ballard showed up at both events to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
On Sunday at the Heron Bay Publix hundreds of Publix patrons had their groceries bagged by Panthers G Tomas Vokoun, LW Ville Peltonen, Panthers broadcasters Bill Lindsay and Denis Potvin and the Panthers Ice Dancers.
The Panthers ‘Countdown to Opening Night Driven by Hyundai’ will continue throughout the month and up until the Panthers host Atlanta on Oct. 11 at the BankAtlantic Center to kick off the home portion of their 2008-09 season.
Upcoming events include visits at various Mayors Jewelers throughout the South Florida community, another Cats Cookout this Saturday at incredibleICE and Stanley C. Panther and Panthers Ice Dancers visits at various locations across South Florida.
