Cory Murphy Claimed By Tampa Bay

SUNRISE, Fla. –Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that D Cory Murphy was claimed on re-entry waivers by the Tampa Bay Lightning.


Murphy, signed by the Panthers as a free agent in March of 2007, played only in seven games this season. In 47 games last year, he had two goals and 15 assists. In December, Murphy was sent to the Panthers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Rochester, N.Y., on a two-week conditioning assignment.
