Comrie & Jenks Invited to U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers prospects D Adam Comrie (Ashburn, VA) and F AJ Jenks (Wolverine Lake, MI) have been invited to the 2009 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y., which runs from Aug. 7-15, as announced today by USA Hockey. Participating players are candidates for the 2010 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2010 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, from Dec. 26, 2009-Jan. 5, 2010, in Saskatoon and Regina, Sask.


Comrie, 18, (Florida’s third choice, 80th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft) played in 52 games with Saginaw (OHL) placing third on the club among defensemen with 30 points (9-21-30). He also played in eight playoff games, registering two assists and eight PIM. Jenks, 18, ( Florida’s 4th choice, 100th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft) played in 61 games for Plymouth (OHL) and ranked fourth on the team with 52 points (21-31-52). He also played in 11 postseason games scoring one goal with a pair of assists.

A total of 43 players from 18 states were invited to the camp, which opens on Aug. 7, with the first international game set for Aug. 11. Games will be held at the USA Rink and 1980 Rink Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center. The camp will feature practices, three games between the split U.S. squads and four games against Russia.
