Coca-Cola 'Kids Month' A Hit Among Young Panthers Fans

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

More Than 6,500 Kids Receive Post-Game Autographs

SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers wrapped up their second annual Coca-Cola Kids Month spectacular at the BankAtlantic Center on Monday night. In all, more than 6,500 young fans received an autograph from a Panthers player at one of five different post-game autograph sessions that were held throughout January.

"The autograph signings were a great way for our team to interact with our younger fans," said Florida defenseman Mike Van Ryn. "It's such a satisfying feeling to see the smiles on children's faces when you give them an autograph. Our young fans are very vocal each night and it was great to be able to meet with them and show them a token of our appreciation."

As part of the second annual Kids Month, children (12 and under) received free admission with a paid adult ticket to any of the Panthers five home games at the BankAtlantic Center throughout January. Over the course of the last five home contests the entire team signed autographs during a 20-minute post-game signing session.

Children who attended the games also had the opportunity to play Panthers hockey BINGO courtesy of Radio Disney 990 AM, with the grand prizewinner earning a family trip to Disney World. Additionally, after each Panthers home victory one of the club's three stars gave away a signed stick as he exited the ice.

"Coca-Cola Kids Month was one again a huge success and a favorite among our young fans," said Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing Chad Johnson. "We look forward to bringing this unique program back again next year."
