Forecast-16x9-11-15-21

There's nothing like a little home cooking when you need a boost.
Returning home after going 0-2-2 on their four-game road trip, the Panthers will look to get right back in the win column at FLA Live Arena this week. After opening up their homestand against the Islanders on Tuesday, they'll then host the Devils on Thursday and the Wild on Saturday.
In addition to owning a 7-0-0 record, Florida is leading 33-16 in goals at home this season.

"It'll definitely be nice to settle in at home here a bit," Panthers forward Owen Tippett said after Monday's practice at the Panthers IceDen. "We just want to get this home stretch underway."
Entering this week in first place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 10-2-3, the Panthers have managed to earn at least one point in 13 of their 15 games so far this season. And after ending their trip with points against Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, things are trending back up.
"We're not happy with just [one point in each game], but I think with our performance in the last two games that we're heading in the right direction," Panthers defenseman Radko Gudas said.
Overall, the Panthers have won 11 straight regular-season games at home since last season.
"We love playing in front of our fans ever since last year when we were able to get a few fans in," Gudas said of the team's incredible success in Sunrise. "Building on that, I think it's huge for us to have the home-ice advantage and push through the season to get it in the playoffs."
From a huge homestand to running for a good cause, read below to preview the week ahead.

THE GAMES

Tuesday: New York Islanders, 7 p.m.
Looking to snap out of their four-game skid, the Panthers will open up their homestand against the Islanders (5-4-2) at FLA Live Arena on Tuesday. New York, which previously fell to Florida by a score of 5-1 back on Oct. 16, enters this week on the heels of a 4-0 loss at New Jersey on Thursday. Running into a hot goaltender, the Islanders fired 42 shots on goal against the Devils, but all of them were gobbled up by MacKenzie Blackwood. Struggling to find the back of the net, New York currently ranks 27th in the league on offense with an average of 2.45 goals per game. Brock Nelson leads the team in scoring with nine points, including a team-leading seven goals. Tied for second place, Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier each have seven points. For the Panthers, look for Eetu Luostarinen to make some noise around the net in this contest. Heating up on offense as of late, the 23-year-old center has scored five goals over his last nine games.

Thursday: New Jersey Devils, 7 p.m.
With a chance to get a bit of revenge, the Panthers will welcome the Devils (7-4-3) to FLA Live Arena on Thursday. Facing off for the first time this season last week, New Jersey beat Florida by a score of 7-3 during a frustrating matchup in the Garden State. Since that win, however, the Devils have dropped two of three games, including a 4-3 shootout loss against the Rangers on Sunday. Sitting atop the team's scoring leaderboard, four different players have accumulated 11 points: Pavel Zacha, Andreas Johnsson, Dawson Mercer and Jesper Bratt. Also pacing the club with seven goals, Zacha has scored three times over his last six games. At the other end of the ice, look for Aleksander Barkov to put up some points in this rematch. Ranking first on the team in scoring with 16 points (nine goals, seven assists), the Cats captain is currently riding a torrid nine-game point streak in which he's notched 11 points, including lighting the lamp seven times.

Saturday: Minnesota Wild, 6 p.m.
In a battle between two of the best teams in the NHL at the moment, the Panthers will welcome the Wild (10-4-0) to FLA Live Arena on Saturday. Occupying the top spot in the Central Division, Minnesota enters this week with wins in five of its last six contests, including a 4-2 win at Seattle on Saturday in which Rem Pitlick led the charge up front with a hat trick. Over that productive six-game stretch, the Wild has scored at least five goals four times, which has propelled the team's offense to eighth in the league (3.36 goals per game). Ryan Hartman and reigning Calder Trophy winner Kirill Kaprizov are tied for first on Minnesota in scoring with 11 points each. Netting a team-high seven goals, Hartman has scored five times over his last eight games. Needing to match that offensive output, look for Anthony Duclair to make something happen in this game. Sitting second on the Panthers in goals with eight, the speedy winger has touched twine in seven of 15 games this season, with all but one of his goals coming at 5-on-5.

PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations are in order for Braden Haché.
On Saturday, the 18-year-old defenseman achieved an unforgettable milestone when he netted the first goal of his OHL career to help lead Kingston to a 5-4 shootout victory over Mississauga.
With the Frontenacs trailing 3-2 in the third period, his goal from the point made it a 3-3 game.

A seventh-round pick (210th overall) of the Panthers in the 2021 NHL Draft, Haché missed the entire 2019-20 season after the OHL shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Appearing in 14 games already this season, it looks like he's already starting to get back into a nice groove.
"I love the game, and that's why I play it," Haché said during Florida's development camp back in September. "Going 18 months without a game is pretty hard on a hockey player. I'm just enjoying every moment, enjoying every day. I'm happy."
