Can't wait for the season to start because you miss hockey so much? Well floridapanthers.com offers some relief.
Every Monday until the start of the season, floridapanthers.com will delve into the video vault and bring you "Cats Classic", a highlight reel of classic Panthers games.
The first Cat's Classic that we bring to you comes from the 1999-2000 season. The day was January 22nd with the Cats taking on the Boston Bruins in Sunrise at what was then known as the National Car Rental Center.
What makes this game a classic?
First off, the Panthers held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before falling behind the Bruins 3-2.
But the Cats fought back, capping off a five-goal second period to knot the score at three. Winger Pavel Bure would net the 300th goal of his career during that second period. Then in the overtime period, the Russian Rocket would score his 301st, giving the Cats the 4-3 victory. The winner was his eighth game-winner at point of the season, setting a new team record in that category while also giving him 33 goals on the season (also setting a new team record).

(Other Classics already in the playlist for the future include: the first game in franchise history against Chicago, Bill Lindsay's Game 7 winner against Boston in 1996, and the Panthers 6-2 victory over the Islanders, earning John Vanbiesbrouck the 300th victory of his career.)
