Cats & Coffee: Territory Teammates; 30 Days of Giveaways

Good morning and welcome to "Cats & Coffee," a weekly segment, presented by Koffee Kult, in which we serve up an exciting look at what's on deck for your Florida Panthers. The push toward the postseason is picking up steam.

With more and more members of the Florida Panthers returning to the Panthers IceDen to participate in Phase 2 of the NHL's Return to Play Plan, the team's matchup against the New York Islanders in the Qualifying Round of the playoffs is going to be here before you know it.

For the next few weeks, shaking off the rust after a three-month lockdown will be the goal for most players, as training camp isn't scheduled to begin until July 10 when Phase 3 kicks off.

"When you're not skating, it's almost tough to understand how close you are and how far you are from being ready to play," Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad said. "So obviously when you step on the ice for the first time, it's kind of tough.

"You kind of feel like you're Bambi on ice for a few minutes, but it comes quick and you start to feel good and the motivation, the excitement picks up. And, obviously, with all the talks between the NHL and NHLPA, it gets all that much more real that we know we're going to play soon."

Until the puck drops, however, we do have some time to look back at the regular season.

Finishing with a 35-26-8 record, the Panthers certainly had more than a few unforgettable moments take place during the 2019-20 campaign, including a pair of epic comebacks, a franchise record for Jonathan Huberdeau, and a very impressive six-game winning streak.

TERRITORY TEAMMATES

Today is the last day to nominate a "Territory Teammate" in South Florida.

With the recent launch of the Florida Panthers Foundation's new "Territory Teammates" drive, the organization is encouraging fans to nominate local heroes from around South Florida that went above and beyond to serve, help and inspire others throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the conclusion of the nomination period, five finalists will have their stories chosen.

After that, fans will then vote to decide the overall winner.

30 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS

If you haven't renewed your Territory Membership for the 2020-21 season, now is the time!

From June 18-26, the final seven prizes from the Panthers' annual "30 Days of Giveaways" will be awarded. These wonderful prizes include everything from a game-used stick autographed by Sergei Bobrovsky to a two-night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Fans that have already renewed their memberships and not won a prize remain in the pool for these prizes, while those that have yet to renew will need to do so ASAP in order to be entered.

In addition to still being able to win some great prizes, all fans that renew their memberships by June 26 will also receive two percent of their total ticket investment in Cats Ca$h, which can be used to purchase concessions, merchandise and much more throughout the 2020-21 campaign.

Did you know Pantherland is now doing curbside pickup and delivery?

Curbside pickup is available on Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at BB&T Center.
