Cats & Coffee: Special Reading Tour Guest; 2-Minute Minor Contest

by Jameson Olive / @JamesonCoop / FloridaPanthers.com

Good morning and welcome to "Cats & Coffee," a weekly segment, presented by Koffee Kult, in which we serve up an exciting look at what's on deck for your Florida Panthers. Like our friends at Koffee Kult, this forecast serves up only the best -- so sit back, sip and enjoy our latest brew of news, notes and information!

You're running out of time to check out the Summer Reading Tour!

On the first of two stops the tour will be making this week, Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad will serve as guest reader at Lauderdale Lakes Library. The event begins at 1 p.m. and also will include several other fun activities for children, including games, giveaways and more.

A veteran of the tour, Ekblad also flipped through some pages as a guest reader last summer.

"It's nice to give back and read to some kids," Ekblad said after reading a book about a magical Zamboni at the Southwest Regional Library last July. "It's nice to teach them about hockey, the Zamboni and what that book was all about… It's a real treat and fun to meet kids in this community."

Following Ekblad's reading, the tour will move on to its penultimate stop at the North Regional / Broward College Library in Coconut Creek on Saturday, with all of the action starting at 1 p.m. For more information regarding the tour, please visit FloridaPanthers.com/ReadingTour.

TWO-MINUTE MINOR CONTEST

What's life like down in the penalty box?

This is your chance to find out.

With the 2019-20 preseason right around the corner, the Panthers recently unveiled a brand-new, one-in-a-lifetime contest to give fans a chance to get as close to the action as possible.

By entering in the "Two-Minute Minor Contest," you and three of your best friends will have a chance to not only win four free tickets to Florida's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at BB&T Center on Sept. 26, but also a prime location in the sin bin for warm-ups.

Not good enough? You're hard to please!

The winner will also take home a pennant signed by the Panthers 2019 free agent class. To enter the contest, click HERE.

TIME TO GET YOUR TICKETS

If you're not lucky enough to win your way in, there's plenty of other ways to get into the rink.

With just over two months to go until the Panthers open up their highly-anticipated campaign against the cross-state rival Lightning on Oct. 3 in Tampa Bay, everything from groups and suites to season and single-game ticket packages for all 82 games are currently on sale now.

And while all of those options are great, full season tickets do come with the following perks:

• Exclusive Concession Pricing on Select Items

• 25% Merchandise Discount in Pantherland

• Discounted General Parking

• Priority Access to BB&T Center Concerts and Events

• Exclusive Season Ticket Holder Events

As I said before, this is a season you're not going to want to miss!
