Good morning and welcome to "Cats & Coffee," a weekly segment, presented by Koffee Kult, in which we serve up an exciting look at what's on deck for your Florida Panthers. Like our friends at Koffee Kult, this forecast serves up only the best -- so sit back, sip and enjoy our latest brew of news, notes and information.
Another week, another chance to pick up some points.
Despite opening up their current five-game road trip with a 5-3 loss to the defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning on Sunday, the Panthers enter this week with wins in seven of their last 10 games and sitting pretty in second place in the Central Division with a record of 20-7-4.

"I really liked our effort," Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle said after the loss in Tampa Bay. "I thought we worked hard and played hard for 60 minutes. Obviously, there's points in the game where you can learn from and get better from, and I think we'll do that and move on to Chicago."
Learning from their recent loss and moving right along, the Panthers will kick off this week with two games against the Blackhawks on Tuesday and Thursday. After that, they'll close out their trek away from home with a critical back-to-back set against the Stars on Saturday and Sunday.
Making a habit out of bouncing back, Florida has gone 9-0-1 in games following losses.
Getting contributions from up and down the lineup, the Panthers also continue to be one of the league's most-exciting teams to watch. Fueling the team's top-five offense, six different players have already scored at least 10 goals, including Aleksander Barkov (13), Patric Hornqvist (12), Carter Verhaeghe (12), Jonathan Huberdeau (11), Aaron Ekblad (10) and Frank Vatrano (10).
Off to an exceptional 10-3-1 start outside of Sunrise, the offense has been particularly potent on the road, where the Panthers rank first in the league with an average of 3.86 goals per contest.
Here's everything you need to know for the week ahead…

THE GAMES

Tuesday and Thursday: at Chicago Blackhawks, 8 p.m. ET
Looking to remain perfect in their season series, the Panthers will visit the Blackhawks (14-13-5) for a pair of games at United Center on Tuesday and Thursday. Limping into this week, Chicago has dropped six of its last seven games to slip outside of a playoff spot and into fifth place in the Central Division. During that slump, the team has struggled mightily on the defensive side of the puck, surrendering at least four goals six times, including three games in which they allowed six. That being said, the Blackhawks have the weapons to always be dangerous. In the mid-season conversation for the Hart Trophy, Patrick Kane leads the team and ranks third in the league with 42 points (12 goals, 30 assists), while Alex DeBrincat leads the team and sits tied for sixth in the league with 16 goals. In four matchups against Florida this season, that duo has combined nine points (four goals, five assists). Speaking of the Panthers, look for Aleksander Barkov to make a lot of things happen in the Windy City. Leading the team in both goals (13) and points (37), the 25-year-old center has registered five goals and five assists over his last six contests. Helping Florida to a 4-0-0 record against Chicago this season, Barkov has nine points in those games.

Saturday and Sunday: Dallas Stars, 8 p.m. ET (Sat); 6 p.m. ET (Sun)
Wrapping up their five-game road trip, the Panthers will battle the Stars (10-10-8) in back-to-back games at American Airlines Center on Saturday and Sunday. Entering the week, Dallas has lost five of its last seven games, with five of those games being decided by a single goal. Joe Pavelski leads the team in both goals (14) and points (28). Of those points, 15 have come on the power play, where the Stars rank 14th in the league at a respectable 23.4%. That being said, Dallas should have its hands full with Florida's penalty kill, which has gone an outstanding 19-for-20 over the last five games. Up front, look for Patric Hornqvist to make something happen in this two-game series. Sitting second on the Panthers in goals with 12, the 34-year-old veteran has been a force on the power play this season. In fact, of his goals, a team-leading seven have come on the man advantage. Over his last 10 games, he's tallied three goals and four assists. In four meetings with Dallas thus far, Florida has gone 2-0-1 despite being held to just six goals.

PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT

Owen Lindmark is heading into the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament on a hot streak.
In the midst of his sophomore season at Wisconsin, the 19-year-old forward closed out the regular season with points in five of his final six games. During that run, he notched one goal and five assists to finish with 17 points, which placed him in a tie for sixth-most on the team.

With a 20-9-1 record, Lindmark and the Badgers captured the No. 1 seed in the Bridgeport Regional and will take on Bemidji State (15-9-3) at 1 p.m. ET on Friday. Fans looking to catch the game can watch the action on ESPN2 or follow along on Twitter with @BadgerMhockey.
Taken in the fifth round (137th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft, Lindmark is joined at Wisconsin by senior Tyler Inamoto, a fellow Panthers prospect drafted in the fifth round (133rd overall) in 2017.
Overall, Florida has four prospects competing in this year's tournament.
