SUNRISE, Fla. – The National Hockey League announced Monday that Florida Panthers C Gregory Campbell was named one of the ‘Three Stars’ for the week ending Jan. 11.
Campbell, the third star of the week, helped the Panthers to three consecutive victories the week of Jan. 4 with two goals, four assists and was a plus-6. He had three assists in Saturday’s 8-4 victory over Atlanta. Campbell had a goal in the Panthers’ 4-2 victory over Carolina Thursday and a goal and assist in the team’s 4-2 victory Tuesday in Toronto.
A third-round draft choice (67th overall) of the Panthers in the 2002 Entry Draft, Campbell, 25, has already eclipsed his career-highs from last year, when he scored five goals and 13 assists in 81 games.
Through 42 games, Campbell has eight goals and 12 assists.
