Panthers forward David Booth has been taken to a local hospital in Montreal for further evaluation after being hit by Canadiens defenseman Jaroslav Spacek early in the second period. He was alert and coherent with facial lacerations.
Trailing 2-0, 1:09 into the second period, Booth was hit with a hard check by Spacek as he entered the Canadiens zone along the boards.
Booth has recorded 11 points (six goals) in 11 games since the Panthers have returned from the Olympic break. He has 16 points (eight goals) in just 27 games this season. He missed 45 games after suffering a concussion due to a hit by Philadelphia's Mike Richards on October 24th.
