It’s now five straight for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the playoffs as they beat the Chicago Steel 5-1 Friday night.

And that win has the Hawks just one win away from the Clark Cup Championship series.

Chicago actually jumped on the board first as Max Nicastro scored 15:19 into the opening period. But Waterloo tied the score heading into the intermission as Brock Montpetit netted an unassisted goal with 1:14 left.

After a scoreless second, Waterloo broke the game open midway through the third. Billy Maday scored the eventual game-winner 4:39 in and then Craig Smith at 13:39 and Siim Liivik 49 seconds later. Patrick Wey finished off the scoring with three seconds left on the clock as the Hawks were on the power play.

John Lee finished -1 and had a matching delay of game call at 14:31 of the second period and a matching roughing call at 19:15 of the second.

The Black Hawks can wrap up the series on Sunday in Chicago.
