SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment in conjunction with Broward County announced today that the Youth Anti-Violence Summit will take place at the BankAtlantic Center on Wednesday, May 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
“We are very pleased to have partnered with Broward County, the Children’s Services Council, and the Broward County Public Schools and we look forward to hosting this special event that will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the South Florida community,” said Michael Yormark, President & COO of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment. “The growing youth violence epidemic has unfortunately become a topic of concern in the South Florida community and we are hopeful that this event will be a significant step in curtailing juvenile violence.”
Agencies participating in the Summit include Broward Health, Broward County Health Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Chiefs of Police Association, Office of the State Attorney, Office of the Public Defender, Memorial Healthcare System, 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, and the United Way of Broward County.
The Broward County Youth Anti-Violence Summit will bring together elected officials, students, law enforcement, faith-based leaders, the business community, charitable foundations, institutions of learning, the media, judges and other stakeholders committed to county-wide change through the implantation of local solutions.
