BankAtlantic Center Ranks No. 8 in the Country

SUNRISE, Fla. – Trade Publication PollStar announced today that the BankAtlantic Center ranked No. 8 in the United States and No.22 in the world in the publication’s midyear building rankings. The ‘Center of it All’ had an exciting first half of entertainment including the Foo Fighters, Barry Manilow, Van Halen, Donna Summer, Jonas Brothers, Dancing With The Stars: The Tour,  Blue Man Group, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Lil’ Wayne, Katt Williams and The Cure.

“It was a phenomenal first half of entertainment at the BankAtlantic Center,” Sunrise Sports & Entertainment president & chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. “These numbers are further proof that the BankAtlantic Center continues to be the premier spot for entertainers and artists to play when they visit South Florida.  Moving forward we will continue to maintain an aggressive programming strategy with several big announcements coming up in the next few months.”

The BankAtlantic Center ranked ahead of such renowned venues as the United Center in Chicago, Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, American Airlines Center in Dallas, Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., and the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

“We appreciate the continued support from all the promoters, agents and entertainers who played an important role in helping us achieve this ranking,” said Yormark. “We look forward to welcoming them back for future concerts at our venue.”

Upcoming shows at the BankAltantic Center include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Brian McKnight, America Idols Live!, Janet Jackson, Neil Diamond, New Kids on the Block, Tina Turner, Coldplay, Celine Dion and much more.
