BankAtlantic Center Ranks #7 In The Country

‘Center of it All’ receives highest ever national ranking; Ranked No. 16 in the world

SUNRISE, Fla. – Trade Publication PollStar announced today that the BankAtlantic Center ranked No. 7 in the United States (the arena’s highest ever national ranking) and No. 16 in the world in the publication’s first quarter building rankings. The ‘Center of it All’ has an even more exciting quarter ahead with acts such as Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, B.B. King, Katt Williams, The Cure and more scheduled for the end of April, May and June.

“It was a phenomenal first quarter of entertainment at the BankAtlantic Center,” Sunrise Sports & Entertainment president & chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. “These latest numbers are proof that the BankAtlantic Center continues to be the premier entertainment destination in South Florida. Moving forward we will continue to maintain an aggressive programming strategy and expect to move up the rankings with a stellar schedule of events over the next three months.”

The BankAtlantic Center ranked ahead of such renowned venues as the United Center in Chicago, Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. and more.

Additionally, Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the BankAtlantic Center would like to thank all of their constituents for making the first quarter of 2008 one of the most successful quarters in the history of the venue.

The BankAtlantic Center hosted some of the world’s top tours during the first quarter including Foo Fighters, Dancing With The Stars: The Tour, Diana Ross, Van Halen, Donna Summer, Jonas Brothers, Blue Man Group and more.

“We put together a sensational schedule of concerts and shows for our fans during the first quarter of 2008 and have a great entertainment schedule set for the coming months,” SSE director of event programming Sid Greenfeig said. “Both the frequency and diversity of our events continues to position the BankAtlantic Center as the premier entertainment venue in South Florida.”
