2011 could be record breaking year with Sade, Lady Gaga, Bocelli, Rush, Ozzy and more headed to Sunrise

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the BankAtlantic Center broke the National top 20 in all four of trade publication PollStar’s arena venue rankings in 2010. The BankAtlantic Center continues to establish itself as one of the hottest buildings in Florida and an elite venue worldwide, ranking No. 7 in the United States during the first quarter, No. 8 during the mid-year rankings and No. 17 in the year end rankings. The “Center of it All” also achieved an arena-best No. 3 U.S. ranking following the second quarter of 2009, and a Building of the Year nomination following 2008.
As successful as 2010 was for the “Center of it All”, 2011 looks to be the most successful year in the venue’s 12-year history with huge shows already on the calendar such as Linkin Park, Barry Manilow, Andrea Bocelli, Sade, Lady Gaga, Ozzy Osbourne, Rush, Iron Maiden, and more.
The BankAtlantic Center did have an incredible year of entertainment in 2010 including huge shows from some of the biggest names in entertainment such as Bon Jovi, Michael Buble, Eric Clapton, Taylor Swift, John Mayer, Dane Cook, Jay-Z, Jimmy Buffett, Carole King & James Taylor, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Aerosmith, Eagles, Roger Waters and more.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as an elite building in the United States and the world, but we are already focused on making 2011 the best and most exciting year of any venue in South Florida history,” Sunrise Sports & Entertainment president & COO Michael Yormark said. “In 2011 the BankAtlantic Center  will continue to be the premier South Florida destination for entertainers and fans, as well as an internationally recognized magnet for world class talent. Moving forward we will continue to maintain an aggressive programming strategy with the goal of providing a diverse schedule of concerts and shows for fans across the tri-county area and beyond.”
The BankAtlantic Center ranked ahead of such renowned venues as the HP Pavilion in San Jose, the Verizon Center in Washington, DC, the TD Garden in Boston, the Rose Garden in Portland, and more.
“We appreciate the continued support from all the promoters, agents, managers, entertainers and fans who played an important role in helping us achieve this latest ranking,” added SSE vice president of event programming Matt Bell. “We look forward to welcoming them back for future concerts at our venue.”
