Award Winning Journalist Dave Joseph Joins Panthers

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers announced today that award winning journalist and former Sun-Sentinel writer Dave Joseph has joined the organization as the Director of Internet and Publication Content.

“Certainly it is rare for a journalist of Dave’s talent and experience to move over and join a professional sports franchise,” SSE chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. “That said, his journalistic skills, ingenuity and know-how alone will help elevate our web site and magazines to an elite level. In addition, having lived and worked in South Florida for the better part of two decades, Dave has a strong, recognizable voice in the community that will continue to endear himself to Panthers fans throughout our various published mediums.”

In this role, Joseph will be directly responsible for all of the editorial content on FloridaPanthers.com including daily articles, profiles, video and audio features and more. In addition, Joseph will contribute monthly to all three of SSE’s monthly magazines – Panthers Insider, Unrestricted and Live On Stage.

Joseph joins SSE with over 20 years of journalism experience in both magazines and newspapers. He is renowned for his award-winning feature stories on such topics as Triple Crown winner Secretariat and the rise and fall of track star Houston McTear. He is also well known in the South Florida community for his columns in the Sun-Sentinel, where some of his favorite subjects include horse racing, the Florida Panthers and the National Hockey League. Joseph is a native of South Boston – a hockey hot bed – and graduated from Northeastern University. He, with photographer and friend Jon Kral, recently published a book about the life of thoroughbred racehorses after they retire entitled “Saving Leslie Jones.”

Fans can expect to start seeing content from Joseph on FloridaPanthers.com during the week of May 7.
