SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment Executive Chairman Peter Luukko announced today that Adam Fullerton has been named General Manager of the BB&T Center. He previously served as Director of Arena Operations since November 2013.
“Adam has done an outstanding job making the BB&T Center a first class facility and this promotion is well deserved,” Luukko said. “His knowledge and leadership for facilities in the entertainment and sports industry is an asset to the organization.”
Fullerton managed the finances, personnel and operations for 110 events per year as Director of Arena Operations. He managed over 116 employees including engineers, electricians and housekeeping. He is the primary liaison to the senior executive team, team and building sponsors, city and county officials, to ensure the proper requirements are in place for the BB&T Center.
Fullerton graduated from the US Military Academy, West Point in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Leadership and Environmental Engineering. He served in the military for five years as a Fire Support Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, Intelligence Officer and Company Commander in Afghanistan and Fort Carson, Colo. He received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service, and dedication to the mission while deployed in a combat setting, rated as one of the top two captains in the organization.
Fullerton is also a professional lacrosse player and was the goaltender for the Florida Launch in 2014 and 2015. This season he is a goaltender with the Ohio Machine (MLL). He won the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Award at Army in 2007 and 2008 and was the goalkeeper for the USA Gold Medal Lacrosse Team in 2010.
