A Look Ahead March 16 - 22

The Panthers’ hunt for the playoffs continues with a three-game homestand this week. The Cats will host Montreal and Detroit before closing out the homestand against Boston on Saturday.

STORYLINES TO WATCH

- F Dave Bolland is two points shy of his 200th NHL point.

- F Jaromir Jagr is one goal away from passing F Phil Esposito for sole possession of fifth all-time in goals (717) and three games away from tying F John Bucyk for 12th all-time in games played (1,540).

-F Jussi Jokinen is three assists shy of his 300th NHL assist.

- F Shawn Thornton is one game shy of his 600th NHL game. With his 600th NHL game played, Thornton will be only the third player in history to play at least 600 games in both the NHL and AHL.

- D Brian Campbell is two points away from tying D Gord Murphy (142) for 15th all-time in franchise scoring for Florida and third all-time in franchise scoring for defensemen.

- All three games this week are against Atlantic Division rivals and teams currently in playoff spots.

TUESDAY'S TILT

Mar. 17 vs. Montreal Canadiens

All-Time Record against Montreal: 37-28-6-9

All-Time Home Record against Montreal: 19-15-3-4

The Panthers and the Canadiens have split this season's series as they close in on their third meeting. Both games this season between the two clubs have ended in a shootout. Florida fell to Montreal in a shootout on Dec. 30, with a final score of 2-1, before topping the Canadiens in a shootout in Montreal 3-2 on Feb. 19. The Panthers face the Canadiens in Montreal on March 28, before hosting them in their fifth and final meeting on Apr. 5.

The Panthers are 2-1-0 against the Red Wings this season as the two teams face each other for the fourth and final time this season. Florida's two wins against Detroit this season occurred in the Motor City. On Thursday, the Panthers will look to win their first home game against the Red Wings this season and take the season series.

The Panthers continue their playoff hunt in a big way on Saturday as they look to slow down the Bruins to take the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. These two division foes will meet for only the second time this season. Florida fell 2-1 in overtime to the Bruins on Nov. 4 in Boston. The two clubs will meet twice more before the end of the regular season.
