When 7-year-old Panther fan Brad McCloskey heard about Richard Zednik’s accident in Buffalo last week, he asked Tracy Reeder, his first-grade teacher at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, to take a prayer request.
Not only did Reeder’s class say a prayer for Zednik, but they made a poster for the Panther forward offering good wishes with caricatures made from their thumb prints.
“Brad heard about the accident and brought it to our attention,” Reeder said. “Brad also wanted to send a card to (Zednik). So we prayed for him and my assistant, Dayna Calhoun, worked with the kids, writing the card and turning their thumb prints into characters with ice skates.”
Zednik, released from the hospital last weekend and back home in South Florida, has received more than 22,000 get well messages at FloridaPanthers.com.
