Steve Goldstein will host Thursday the 7th annual ‘Goldie’s Gang’ Golf Classic at Miccosukee Golf and Country Club.
Goldstein, the Panthers’ play-by-play radio host, founded ‘Goldie’s Gang’ in 1999 to help raise funds for underprivileged kids in South Florida. Several hundred children attend Panther games each year from money raised through ‘Goldie’s Gang.’
“It’s a great way to help out kids in South Florida who don’t have the opportunity that others might have, such as attending games,” Goldstein said. “We work with schools and youth foundations throughout South Florida and work with teams who made need help with uniforms or travel.”
Along with attending Panther games, ‘Goldie’s Gang’ holds several youth clinics each year, including one Saturday at 10 a.m., at Dolphin Stadium.
“The idea of the youth clinics is to let the kids participate in different sports and to meet players,” Goldstein added.
Registration and lunch for Thursday’s ‘Goldie’s Gang’ golf tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. The two-man scramble begins at noon. Green fees will be $90 for each golfer.
